U Nebraska Regent Calls for Project Labor Agreement Ban on Haymarket Arena

News of the Prop G and Prop K ballot measure victories banning discriminatory and costly project labor agreements(PLAs) on public works projects in the San Diego area of Chula Vista and Oceanside travels fast.

It turns out Nebraskans aren’t big on PLAs either!

Check out this article in the Journal Star (“Clare wants Lincoln to ban union-only agreements on arena project, 6/10″).  University of Nebraska Regent Tim Clare wants to see Lincoln residents get the best arena at the best price by prohibiting the use of discriminatory PLAs on the Haymarket Arena project:

He said the board has a duty to keep the arena project on time and on budget, and that will be more difficult if project labor agreements are used. He said the agreements lead to hidden costs.
